For 18 years The Giving Tree appeal at Bloomfield Shopping Centre has been bringing great support to the women and children involved in North Down and Ards Women’s Aid services. Originally started by Esther Rantzen and Childline it grows in success each year.
The Giving Tree is located opposite H&M on the mall towards Tesco. On its baubles are stickers the names, ages and choice of gift of children who would otherwise go without this Christmas.
If you would like to help a child that has, through no fault of their own, had to leave their home with nothing and at short notice please chose your gift, mark it off on the tree (or remove the sticker) and take the unwrapped gift to Thomas Cook. Centre Management will then make sure it gets to Women’s Aid.
North Down and Ards Women’s Aid would like to thank the Staff and shoppers of Bloomfield Shopping Centre for their overwhelming generosity – last year over 150 children received gifts from the Giving Tree, children from families who have experienced domestic violence.
Women’s Aid Charity has been working to eliminate Domestic Violence in Northern Ireland for over 20 years. Domestic Violence is an issue that strikes at the heart of our communities. It can happen to anyone regardless of their background, religion, race, age or financial situation.
